Delivery information
We strive to give our customers the best shipping facilities and rates available.
We deliver to all areas within Middelburg only. We do, however, run special monthly deliveries to Pretoria / Johannesburg. We are looking at expanding these special monthly deliveries to other areas too. Contact us to check our schedule. If you aren’t sure if your area is included, send us an email. We are happy to help.
Please note that we do not offer delivery to rural areas and farms.
If you order from outside of our delivery areas we will have to refund you for the value of your order.
Shipping is calculated at checkout.
General Requirements for Delivery:
- Delivery criteria: minimum order for delivery is R500.
- For orders under R500, you may collect from our store through the store pick-up option.
- Customers must ensure someone is at the delivery address to receive the goods.
- Should no one be able to receive the goods at the customer’s address, Beerde Beef will have the goods returned to its premises.
- Because meat is perishable the following measures will be taken:
Middelburg, Mpumalanga clients will be contacted for the next alternative date of delivery, and will charge the additional delivery fee, payable by the customer before receiving the order.
Delivery to other areas: we won’t be able to guarantee the freshness of our product and your order would be forfeited.
- If you live in an estate please send us a PIN once you have received your reminder email so that the driver can deliver your order to your home.
How do I know when my order will arrive?
We will send an email the day before delivery to remind you of your order. We cannot specify a time for delivery due to circumstances outside of our control such as roadworks, traffic, etc.
What happens if there is a delivery delay?
We are not responsible for delays outside of our control. If our supply of your products is delayed because of an event outside of our control, then we will contact you as soon as practically possible. We will do our best to minimise the effect of the delay. If there is a risk of substantial delay, you may contact us to receive a refund for any products you have paid for but not received.

PACKAGING
Our meats are vacuum packed and immediately frozen. As with all our products we truly believe in this method of preserving the taste, flavour and freshness of our meats.
Why do we Freeze our meat?
The “fresh” meat you are buying in a store undergoes multiple stages of handling and sitting on a shelve allowing bacteria to grow over a few days before it is bought. Vacuum-sealing and freezing reduce bacterial growth without additives, making frozen meat often fresher in taste and smell.
We do recommend thawing the frozen meat in the fridge overnight. But defrosting it in its vacuumed state in cold water when you are in a jam will do no harm. Do not re-freeze defrosted meat.
